There may be a fake invoice scam that is targeting past petitioners of Zoning requests. Reports from Municipalities in Wisconsin state that petitioners who recently made zoning change requests/reviews/etc. are receiving invoices in their mail/Email appearing to be from their [municipality name] Planning (& Zoning) Commission. Then it will proceed to tell them to send a large sum of money via a wire. This is a classic phishing attempt.
If you ever receive invoices, letters, etc. that you believe may be a scam and appear to be from the Village of North Freedom, please call our Village Office at 608-522-4550. Never click any links in Emails attempting the above scam or appear to be suspicious!
