**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**
Press Release: North Freedom Fire Department’s Class 3 ISO Rating
We are pleased to announce that the North Freedom Fire Department’s ISO Rating, or Public Protection Classification (PPC), continues to be in the Class 3 group.
Some of you may be wondering what this means. An ISO Rating is a classification assigned to a Community’s Fire Protection Services by the Insurance Services Office (ISO). It reflects how effectively a Fire Department can respond to and extinguish fires. Ratings are based on a 1 through 10 scale, with 1 being the highest level of protection and 10 not even meeting ISO’s minimum criteria.
Strong ISO ratings provide lasting benefits to the NFFD communities.
• Protected Properties and Residents: Our volunteers train and meet 3 times a month to better prepare for emergencies. With this training, they are better equipped to make quick thinking decisions and life & property saving actions.
• Insurance Premium Reductions: Something that benefits us all is lower homeowners and business insurance prices. Lower ISO ratings can add direct credits or help property owners avoid penalty surcharges.
About 10% of all Fire Departments nationwide and 15% of all Fire Departments in the State of Wisconsin have a Class 3 rating and we are truly honored to be a part of those rankings. You can find more information through Verisk Analytics - https://www.isomitigation.com/.
We are still in desperate need of volunteers. Recruitment is at an all time low for Fire Departments in Wisconsin. Show some pride for your community and join us today!
