The Village of North Freedom Board is in year 2 of repairing and replacing ALL sidewalks in the Village. The Village is currently seeking quotes for the year 2026 work. 2026 includes the portion of the map in Purple/Blue.
Sidewalk slabs that qualify for repair/replacement will be marked by the Village Board by the beginning of April. A notification will go out to affected residences. The affected property owners then have until August 1st of this year to repair them on their own or hire a contractor. On/around August 1st, the Village Board will remark any previously marked slabs not repaired or privately hired for your reference. A list with addresses and the number of slabs will also be sent to the hired contractor at this time. The work must be completed by October 1st of this year.
When sidewalks were last inventoried, approximately 80 slabs in this segment needed replacement or repair. The standard slabs are approximately 5'L x 4'W with a 4" thickness for regular slabs & a 6" thickness for slabs in front of driveways/alleyways. Please note that if the residents make the repairs themselves, this number will decrease**. Please include in your quote whether backfill/site restoration is included and the price per slab.
The Village Board asks that quotes be sent by Monday, March 9, 2026 - 3:30 PM to be considered at the Regular Meeting happening that night at 7:00 PM.
